Columbus,OH – Ohio Republican Party Chairman Jane Timken released the following statement regarding Joe Biden choosing Kamala Harris as his running mate:

“We knew Joe Biden’s eventual running mate would be someone with their own progressive agenda to peddle. With Kamala Harris chosen earlier today as Biden’s choice for vice president, that assumption remains true. Harris has supported taxpayer-funded healthcare, slashing the defense budget, raising taxes, and eliminating the Electoral College – radical proposals that will be disastrous for Ohioans. The choice for voters is between two extreme liberal candidates and a President who has kept his promises and led Americans through tough times. To voters who value being able to keep their insurance, having more money in their pockets thanks to tax cuts, and limited government, the choice is clear.”

Statement from ORP Communications Director Evan Machan on the Ohio Democrats and League of Women Voters Attempts to Rig Ohio Elections

Columbus,OH – Ohio Republican Party Communications Director Evan Machan released the following statement regarding multiple attempts to rig Ohio elections:

“Today, both the Ohio Democrat Party and the League of Women Voters filed lawsuits challenging Ohio election laws. This is another desperate attempt to rig our elections by creating more vulnerabilities in our voting processes, which will lead to unsafe and unfair elections. The LWV wants to eliminate all signature matching requirements for absentee requests and ballots. The ODP wants electronic submission of absentee requests. These two lawsuits combined make it possible for anyone to request a ballot for another voter without their knowledge or consent and no way to check for fraud.”

“Free and fair elections should be a priority for both groups. Though their indifference to election security hardly comes as a surprise, it should infuriate Ohio voters.”

Ohio Republican Party Press Release: ORP State Central Committee Resolution to Censure Matt Borges

Put forth by Sarah Brown, Committeewoman from the 29th-District and adopted unanimously

Whereas: Former Ohio Republican Party Chairman Matt Borges has conducted himself in a manner which calls into question his dedication to Republican Principles in the following acts:

As State Chairman, he committed FEC violations which cost the state party time, treasury, and reputation.
Upon being defeated as State Party Chairman he put himself out to promote an initiative to legalize marijuana in Ohio;
Upon being defeated as State Party Chairman he put himself out to lead a Super Pac to benefit the nomination of Joe Biden as Democrat Nominee for President;
Upon being defeated as State Party Chairman he now leads a Super Pac aimed at defeating the Republican Nominee for President.

Therefore, be it Resolved that the Ohio Republican Party State Central Committee hereby formally disassociates itself from Mr. Borges and otherwise revokes the titIe of Chairman Emeritus that had been granted Mr. Borges upon his defeat as Republican State Chairman. We take this action on account of Mr. Borges’ misconduct and pattern of using his former status as Ohio Republican Chairman to advocate for proposals which had not been endorsed by The Ohio Republican State Central Committee.
